    A women's apparel brand with 125 years of Floridan history. Born in the sunshine state, founder Gus Anthony started off the company with a $700 loan he begged from his brother in 1895.

    Starting as a shoe store, in the following years Gus opened many stores in Florida at locations such as Fort Pierce, Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, and Gainesville. In the 1920s the iconic, 3-story store opened at Clematis Street, West Palm Beach.

    The women's apparel was a success and by 1976, the company discontinued its male line to focus solely on women's clothing.
