Bible Verses About the Importance of Reading the Bible

Here are my top seven Bible verses almost reading the Bible.

Joshua 1:8 "This volume of the constabulary shall not depart out of your mouth; merely you shall meditate therein day and night, that yous may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for and then you shall make your manner prosperous, and so yous shall have good success."

You cannot meditate on the Give-and-take without first reading it and here it mentions that the" book of the law shall non depart out of your mouth" which indicates that it should exist verbally spoken.  The effect of meditating on the Word of God and speaking it is then that we may "notice to practice according to all that it written therein" and that will brand it possible to "make [our] way prosperous, and and then [we] shall have skillful success."  The prosperity that this is talking virtually isn't financial prosperity necessarily just has in listen the life of the person who offset reads it, so observes it, and finally to know that what is written in it shows us how we tin prosper and be successful, but not by worldly standards but according to God's standard.

Faith comes equally a natural result of hearing the Give-and-take of Christ and since Jesus is the Give-and-take (John ane) the Word must be heard by speaking it in order for people to hear nigh faith in Christ.  It is assumed that through their "hearing" it was spoken by someone.  We know that Stephen, prior to his decease, verbally gave the Bible'south story of redemption and that Paul used  the Word to convince many of the Jews in the Synagogue that Jesus was the Messiah and equally a upshot many came to place their trust in Him.  Paul asks the rhetorical question, "How, so, tin they call on the 1 they have not believed in? And how tin can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them" (Rom ten:14).  They could not have heard the Word if it had not first been spoken and how could they have ever been saved if they hadn't heard the word near the One Who came to accept their sins away?

Hebrews iv:12 "For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than whatsoever two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

The Word of God has real power and it has the ability to cut to the joints and the marrow but it cuts in order to heal.  It discerns our very thoughts and intents that are unseen past human eyes.  The Word is powerful and sharp plenty to cut down into the innermost thoughts of flesh and since information technology's a 2-edged sword, it cuts both ways…both to the i who speaks it and to the ane who hears information technology.

2d Timothy three:xvi-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and assisting for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the human being of God may be complete, equipped for every skilful work."

Scriptures is God-breathed…that is, information technology is inspired by God Himself but information technology must exist breathed out past human agents to in order to reprove, correct, train, and equip every laic for "every expert work."  That's why expository, poesy by verse preaching is and so powerful.  When the Give-and-take of God is read in front of the congregation, it unleashes God'southward own power (Rom 1:16) and in that location is assurance that His Discussion will achieve what He sent it out for (Isaiah 55:11).  The but perfect part of worship services is the reading of the Word for it is perfect.

Psalm 119:11 "I have stored upwards your word in my middle, that I might not sin against you."

The psalmist declared that he has stored up God's Word in his eye or basically memorized it. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness past Satan, Jesus always quoted Scripture to rebuff and rebuke the Devil.  The Devil always misquotes Scripture but if someone memorizes the Word of God in context, they have a storehouse of powerful weapons to defend against temptations and tests and bear them through severe trials and tribulations.  Store it up because you'll most certainly need it.

Job 23:12 "I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I accept treasured the words of his mouth more than than my portion of food."

Job was under severe attack from Satan and since he had already treasured God's Word, he was amend equipped to remain steadfast in his faith and trust in God.   He treasured God's Word "more [his] portion of nutrient" since it has the power to bring eternal life.  A meal can simply sustain us for a time simply the Word of God abides forever and for those who believe it, it leads to eternal life.

Conclusion

I love to do out loud Bible reading during sermons.  I often tell the church building "Today, part of my message is going to be perfect!  The part where I read out of the Bible" which is why expository, poetry by verse Bible preaching is so powerfully effective.  We lose so much past not reading it…and reading it out loud brings the Word of God to life. It is alive, active, powerful, and God-inspired, and it brings success and prosperity, and when stored up, can be drawn upon as a weapon to defend against spiritual attacks and times of testing in this life.  Read it, use it, and you'll dearest it.
